Scarborough says, "I enjoy experiencing the warmth or the coolness of the California landscape. There is a sense of the heat of the dry grassy hillsides and coolness of the bay waters.” Her art invites the viewer to share her vision of the landscape and animals as not just patterns of light and color but also of emotion and memory; capturing the essence of the subject matter. She says, "It is exciting and fascinating. I try to capture all of this in my paintings.” With a past professional history in hospice work, Scarborough holds an intense appreciation of how precious life is and the beauty of our surroundings. She has studied intensively with several well known artists most notably Ning Hou and Ian Roberts. She has attended workshops of William Scott Jennings, Cheri Christensen and Ken Auster. |
